December 2006 - How often should I get a massage? I advise clients individually, based on their needs and lifestyle. There are no "one-size-fits-all" answers when it comes to your healthcare. Using my health questionnaire at the first appointment, I assess a person's daily routine and health care status. I support my clients by offering them education on subjects specific to their personal situations. My belief is that true healing comes from within and I work to facilitate a healing "recipe" for each individual. My clients get in touch with their bodies and learn to become detectives in order to know what the body tells us. My practice includes many massage and bodywork techniques as well as offering information on nutrition, fitness, and the mind/body connection. Recent additions to my practice are the use of Somatics and Neuroenergetic Release (NER). The principle of NER is that the body may develop a "core distortion pattern" and, when the tension caused by the distortion is released, a variety of chronic issues are resolved. My clients have had outstanding results with this new technique. Somatics is about movement education.
