"Mean-o-pause" a.k.a. Menopause
Let's talk about alternative therapies to relieve some of the symptoms we experience during the peri and menopausal years.
The desired approach should be the simplest most natural path first, then advancing up the ladder. Nutrition is the easiest way we can influence our hormonal balance. Eating cruciferous vegetables, fresh greens, fruits, legumes, and whole grains can support the way we feel. Avoiding refined sugars and processed foods make a GIANT impact on hot flashes and night sweats, cravings, moods, and sleep problems.
High glycemic (sugar) foods induce a sequence of hormonal and metabolic changes that help make you "crave" more of the same. It introduces a rollercoaster of blood sugar into your system and in turn, your body will do whatever it takes to get what it needs. If it needs to make you have cravings, no problem, it will. The best way to turn that off is to eat the right, good foods, and plenty of them. Eating healthy, good organic foods will turn off that "trigger" but it takes time, generally, in about 21 days.
Other options are: Homeopathic remedies, Supplements like medical foods that are formulated specifically to balance hormones can be beneficial. Bio-identical creams that are created for you by a compounding pharmacy may be necessary. Reducing stress, come experience the Relax-a-tron Room. Biofeedback software takes you on a magical journey of self-exploration.
The key is to find the invasive methods and use them. It's all about quality of life after all, isn't it?
