Hormonal Pathways
This is the way I understand it; in a perfect world, when were are young our Adrenal glands are functioning healthily and meet the demands of Cortisol your body needs to be in balance.
Then as we meet the challenges of life and start STRESSING out our Adrenal glands we move into "compensation condition" that we will call Stage I Adrenal fatigue. If we notice it, then we start to try and calm down and eat right, exercise and meditate, etc. If we do not catch it, then, it may progress to what we call Stage II Adrenal fatigue. Then your body starts giving you louder signals in an effort to alarm you to pay attention; they could be signals such as:
- Allergies/acne/rosacea
- Blood sugar problems
- Constipation/Diarrhea
- Depression/anxiety/nervousness
- Emotional Fragility
- Headache/fogginess
- Hypertension
- Hypoglycemia
- Hot Flashes/Night Sweats
- Indigestion/bloating
- Infections
- Irritable bowel
- Inflammation/pain
- Insomnia/wakefulness
- Low Sex Drive
- PMS/skin/hair problems
- Tiredness/fatigue
- Weight Gain/loss
If any of these resonate with you and you have been fighting them for awhile with out success or you don't like the methods you are using to battle the symptoms then you owe it to yourself to read on…..

Many of us miss the signals or ignore them. We all think we are indestructible when we are Young. Next, the body produces other signals that may show signs of hormonal out of balance conditions such as PMS in women, loss of hair in men, etc.
Maybe we start to notice and now we have no idea what to do about it. We see our primary care physician and they take blood tests and all "seems" well. But, we do not feel well.
Time marches on and then some other "event" gets our attention, like Menopause. In my study I am learning that if all was well in our hormonal system then we would not experience hot flashes and night sweats and many of the other menopausal symptoms.
I believe that it all stems back to those worn out Adrenals. They are designed to provide Estrogen in the menopause years but if they are malfunctioning, and stressed out beyond their capacity then they cannot function as designed. Good News! The Adrenals can be restored!!!!
There are so many functions and organs affected by our Endocrine system. I recently learned that the Thyroid is greatly affected by the Adrenals performance. You might imagine they work together this way: if the Adrenals are maxed out and no one is listening and all their warning signals are being ignored then maybe the Thyroid could chime in and go into a condition called "hypothyroidism" which causes the body to slow down metabolism and almost hibernate…..hmmm, sounds like it's trying to help the Adrenals not have to work so hard?
I learned that many of us are on unnecessary Thyroid (not all of us, and Do Not stop taking any medicine unless your Doctor tells you to) because we are trying to shore up the Thyroid, when the gland that really are in need of help are the Adrenals. When the Adrenals are restored, then, the Thyroid may be able to go back to normal function.
Some of these simple saliva and urine tests can help us determine what the root of the health issues are. Sadly, many of the blood tests that the Doctors order are not specific enough to detect these early warning signs.
There are many different tests but the ones I like to start with are a Saliva test for the hormones and a Urine test to evaluate your metabolic pathways. In addition to those tests I need to know your Metabolic Food Type so you need to complete an online questionnaire.

MEDIATED RESPONSE TEST
When you have an allergy to a food you know it right away! Many people can tell you about peanuts or MSG, headaches and more. Those reactions can lead to death, it can be very serious.
Food Sensitivities are just as serious, but much more difficult to detect. Until now; a simple blood test can expose your sensitivities from a list of 120 foods and 30 chemicals. Eliminating these from you diet will reduce the STRESS placed on your body. Reduced stress can be responsible for improving the quality of your life.
This test looks at the mediators from your white blood cells. It will help you identify even the healthiest of foods that may be causing you problems. Just because you are eating organic and or the best quality and healthiest diet ever, does not mean you are not ingesting a food that it is hurting you every time you eat it. It might be the last food you suspect! Maybe Rice? No way? Yes, it could be rice…
Sensitivities can be responsible for inflammation which can be at the root of many illnesses. Take a simple blood test and STOP ingesting foods and chemicals that are creating stress and havoc in your gut! You'll receive a full diet plan and coaching.
$275 to the Lab, $50 to Network For Health.

Neurotransmitter Testing
If you are someone you know is experiencing
Depression or mood swings, Anxiety, stress, tension, Difficulty concentrating, focusing or remembering, lack of motivation, Sleep disturbances, insomnia, Headaches, migraines, Fatigue, lack of energy, Weight issues, food cravings, ADD/ADHD.
Normal chemical changes affect how the brain functions. When your neurotransmitters, such as serotonin, and norepinephrine, are properly balanced, scientific research reveals that it can have a positive effect on every aspect of your life and relationships, from sleep cycles to
how we respond to stress, from self-esteem to job performance and more.
Take the self test and see if this might help you. Use Practitioner code R2088.
Note: The sooner you start the sooner you will feel better.

Steroidal Pathways Overview
You need Cholesterol, the LDL kind, in the pathway in order to maintain a healthy hormone system. Our Master hormone, Pregnenolone is made from circulating LDL Cholesterol. I have many charts that I can walk you through during our visit to show you visually how it works.
The body's "preferential pathway" UNDER STRESS is called Pregnenolone Steal or Cortisol Escape. When the body is in a Chronic Stress response, Pregnenolone, the precursor to all the rest of the steroidal hormones, is diverted to cortisol - cortisone.
This is at the detriment of all other steroidal hormones, i. e., progesterone, aldosterone (mineral/cortical pathway/sodium- potassium pump), DHEA and its metabolites; the sex hormones, estrogens, and testosterone. As Pregnenolone is diverted to cortisol - cortisone, DHEA depletion begins.
The result is an elevated cortisol to DHEA ration. This is measurable with the Functional Adrenal Stress profile. Simply divide the cortisol sum by the DHEA(s) average to get the ratio. A normal ratio is approximately 5:1 to 6:1.
